Guide Taureaux

The context

Prim’Holstein France wanted to put the entire catalogue of bulls available on the French market — French and foreign alike — in farmers’ pockets: browse, compare and build a shortlist before placing a semen order (the order itself happens outside the app). An unavoidable constraint on the ground: farmers don’t always have network coverage. The app had to run fully offline on mobile, handling a sizeable dataset on phones that are sometimes old and underpowered — and syncing cleanly on every update.

My mission

I built Guide Taureaux from the ground up as Lead Developer: design, mobile app development, managing the data volume and offline database sync, then deployment to the App Store and Google Play Store. I also owned day-to-day application support: ticket handling and farmer feedback.

What to remember

Guide Taureaux became a daily tool for the industry and paved the way for the organisation’s next generation of applications — including Illicow, its direct successor.
